Sermon Notes
It's very interesting how God works in people's lives, in the past and present. People are drawn to the Lamb of God because they see kindness in other Christians. In Bible times, John the Baptist was a great sower for the Lord. Seeds were sown in people's hearts' when he preached. Throughout the Bible, you can see examples of these seeds growing in the form of men getting saved and becoming missionaries for Him. Be sowers!
John the Baptist said, "Behold the Lamb of God!" Five men were brought before the Lord. Their reactions (or ways the were drawn) were all different. All five men became apostles. They all came to the Holy Spirit in a different way. Some of them were brought by just hearing God speak, and believing. Simon Peter had the hardest heart of all five men. One day, his brother came to him and said, "We have found the Messiah." Simon went to Jesus (the Messiah) and was named one of Jesus' disciples. In our lifetimes, we have many chances to invite people to church. It may not be in a church service form that they hear the gospel, though. It may be in a biblical film or a church activity. You pick out people who would come to different activities. Apply this to your life. You can't get saved unless you know what you're being saved from! The Gospel is always first. But, getting saved can also be a personal experience. A family member, friend, or even a stranger can lead you to the Lord. God can work in so many ways! Be personally involved in helping others see a clear path to God. Also, pray! A simple prayer can change a person's life. We need to be disciples for Jesus and if we decide if we want to follow the Bible or not, we can't do that.
