Missionary Series 1 Adoniram Judson

Adoniram Judson was a missionary to Burma, India. When Adoniram was 23 in 1812, he and Ann Hasseltine got married on February 5. Only days later, fourteen to be exact, the Judsons and another newly-wed couple (the Newells) set sail on the ship the Carnival, On the way to Burma! Mrs.Newell became pregnant and was almost constantly sick. The baby was to be born in India, if all went well. On the journey, Adoniram liked to translate the Bible from Greek into English. Finally, on June 12, 1812, the ship reached India. After 114 days of sailing, the young missionaries were glad to have dry land under their feet.

The Judsons faced many hard trials in their work as missionaries. But they kept going.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
