A follower of Jesus named Joseph asked the Roman soldiers if he could have the body of Jesus to put in a sepulchre (a kind of grave in a cave). They said yes, so Joseph sadly wrapped the body of Jesus in napkins and placed it in the tomb. Three days later, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary (Jesus' mother) went to see it. "And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from Heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it." Matthew 27:2 Then both Marys' were afraid. "And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. Matthew 27:5 Then the angel told them to go and tell Jesus' disciples that He was alive. And on their way they met Jesus and worshipped Him. When the Marys' finally told the disciples, they had to see for themselves. Jesus told them to tell everybody about Him.
